Anderson Power Products Earns 2007 Summit Award at Consona Customer Conference

Company Uses Intuitive™ ERP to Bring Five Global Locations Under One ERP Umbrella; Wins Best Overall Use Award

ORLANDO, INDIANAPOLIS and Sterling, Mass., Oct. 17, 2007 — Consona Corporation (Consona), a worldwide leader in providing customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and services for the enterprise, announced at its premier customer conference, Consona Connect, that Anderson Power Products (Anderson), a manufacturer of high-power interconnects and accessories and Intuitive ERP user, is the 2007 recipient of the software provider’s Best Overall Use award.

The Best Overall Use Award, part of Consona’s annual Summit Awards, honors a customer that has demonstrated excellence in utilizing multiple products (modules, features, add-on, third-party) and services from Consona. Recipients of the award submit both qualitative and quantitative data that illustrate how the solution has improved the customer’s overall business performance. Award recipients display full use of both core and add-on solutions, steady business growth, a strong return on investment, and a passion for implementing and mastering new technologies.

Prior to its Intuitive ERP implementation in 1997, Anderson was operating two locations (in the U.S. and Ireland) and, according to Craig Cormier, manager of business applications for Anderson, using one of the old BPICS-AS/400 systems. “It was a green screen, all text entry,” he said. “The company was at a point in the 1990s when it would cost half a million per year to keep it running.” Since implementing the Intuitive system, the company has expanded from two to five global locations, including Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan. All locations now use the same ERP system, and the company has reduced data entry, inventory levels, and reports significantly.

In addition, Anderson has:

  • Improved shipping/sales abilities by 30 percent.
  • Improved customer and prospect relationships and achieved better visibility into customer sales volumes and details.
  • Decreased custom reports by 50 percent.
  • Decreased custom financial reporting for subsidiaries by 80 percent.
  • Improved consolidated financial reporting time from three days to one hour.
  • Cut down data-entry time by 90 percent.
  • Cut inventory levels by 50 percent.
  • Improved shop floor effectiveness, thanks to a significantly faster material requirements planning process.

“We’ve always gone back to Intuitive ERP to try to leverage the best way to handle our challenges through our system, rather than around it,” said Cormier.

“We are thrilled to honor Anderson with a Summit Award for some absolutely tremendous achievements," said Jeff Tognoni, CEO of Consona. "Anderson sets a standard for the commitment it takes to gain maximum return on a business system investment. The growth and success this company has achieved with our support reminds all of us at Consona why we're in business."
